Description
Widely grown as an ornamental plant for its attractive scented flowers with a musky fragrance. Produces pink saucer flowers for a long bloom time through the summer. They are also an excellent cut flower. Flower stalks grow as a branched plant, creating a unique structure. Leaves and flowers of muskmallow are common additions to “wild” salads and are edible. The seeds are also edible. The flowers are usually pollinated by bees.
Malva moschata grows to nearly 1 metre tall and is a hardy plant which should be placed in a sunny spot, great within a border. Grows well in an average soil type that is well-drained.
