Description

The common mare’s tail, also known as horse tail, is a creeping, perennial plant and mostly aquatic plant, found in shallow waters and mud flats. It roots underwater, but most of its leaves are above the water surface. It grows from stout rhizomes and due to it’s fast rate of growth, and partially underground stems, is considered a perennial weed. The flowers are inconspicuous, and not all plants produce them.
