Description
The wild bergamot or bee balm, is a wildflower in the mint family. Monarda fistulosa, with showy summer-blooming pink to lavender purple flower heads, is often used as a honey plant, medicinal plant, and garden ornamental. Wild bergamot often grows in rich soils in dry fields, thickets, and clearings, usually on limy soil with low soil moisture. Available as bergamot seed packets, plugs, or in 9cm pots. It is quite a high height perennial growing to around 90cm tall, great to add height to summer borders with gorgeous two-lipped, tubular flowers.
