Teucrium scorodonia P. A good woodland subject with lovely crinkly, light green leaves and greenish-yellow flowers with prominent maroon stamens. Flowers: July-Sept. Requires: Shade. Height: 30cm.
Also known as Woodland Germander, It likes sandy soils in woodlands and Acid heaths. Wood sage has very little sent and its now a very good cooking herb. Bees, wasps, beetles and butterflies all feed from Wood Sage.
