Silene flos-cuculi (Syn.Lychnis flos-cuculi) A lovely perennial with dainty pink flowers with ragged petals. Looks terrific in a wetland meadow with meadow buttercup.

Found along roads and in wet meadows and pastures. In Britain it has declined in numbers because of modern farming techniques and draining of wet-lands and is no longer common. This is a tough and reliable but well behaved perennial for the damp border, bog garden, edge of a pond or damp wildflower meadow.
