Description
Monkshood plants also known as tiger-bane, or dogs bain also on occasion as Wolfs Bain but that is normally the yellow flowers monkshood. Flowers late in summer either blue and sometimes white flowers. Will handle both part shade and sun well but they do prefer moist well drained soil, Always wash your hands after handling monkshood or wear gloves. You find many references in literature to monkshood being used to kill enemies. Do not grow this plant around young children or curious pets as it has a potent neurotoxin. That said, monkshood has been safely cultivated in gardens for hundreds of years. It is a lovely flower, just use caution when handling it.
