Description

Hard Rush (Juncus inflexus) is a very common native, shallow water, plant. This plant is tufted with erect grey-green leafless ridged stems. It bears brown flowers from late spring until mid-summer.  Will grow well in standing water up to about 15cm deep, but also does surprisingly well in slightly moist soils that do not dry out. Plants may take time to establish, but once established will slowly spread by creeping rhizomes.
