Giant Bellflower 9cm Pots (Campanula latifolia)

Campanula latifolia, handsome plant with large purple/blue flowers sometimes white on a long leafy spike. Flowers: July to Sept. Requires: Woodland and hedgebanks. Height: 90-150cm.

This species is dormant in winter and will likely have small or no leaves apparent; but will have an excellent root system.

Also known as the large campanula and the wide-leaved bellflower, used widely as an ornamental plant. Grows easily even in partial to full shade.  Seeds freely to become naturalised and can spread by rhizomes. Wait until the seed heads are dark brown and then open them and spread the seed around. Withstands drought quite well.
