Description

Rock roses are evergreen trailing plants with loose terminal clusters of bright yellow, saucer-shaped flowers. Though the individual blooms are short-lived from late spring, the plant produces a mass of flowers through the summer and, as an evergreen shrub, plenty of interest during winter with green foliage.

It needs a dry, sunny place, like a south-facing rockery or meadow, thriving in poor soil types with little soil moisture or sandy soil. Rock roses are a good nectar source for bees and there are several species of small beetle that feed on the foliage.

Typically this plant type grows anywhere between 5cm up to 1 feet tall and is perfect for rock gardens and rockery for help with erosion control, or a sunny border.
