Description

Ajuga reptans is commonly known as bugle, blue bugle, bugleherb, bugleweed, carpetweed, carpet bugleweed, and common bugle and traditionally but less commonly as “St. Lawrence plant. Grown as a garden plant it provides useful groundcover. Bugle is also known as “carpenter’s herb” due to its supposed ability to stem bleeding.

Often this species needs to be planted just before the frost or needs a long period of cold for Stratification, so its seed dormancy can be overcome.
