Our wild flower farm visitor centre (click here for directions to the center), which we believe is the first of its kind in the UK, is situated on Coach Gap Lane, Langar, Notts. It Opened in 1990 and fulfills our objective to provide a site open for demonstration, information and personal advice, allied to sales of wild flower seeds and plants. The site was originally purchased in 1987 and comprised some two acres of `rough and concrete,' and 44 acres of arable land. This has gradually been transformed to provide an attractive reception area and tearoom housed in a pine cabin within the wildlife garden we have created. Our wild flower meadows, wildlife hedge, pond and marsh,- woodland edge habitat, butterfly and bee garden, cottage garden, rockery and dry stone wall depict habitats which can be utilised and are ideally suited to growing wild flowers and attracting wildlife. |
Our Visitor Centre and Nursery is open from Easter or the 1st of April - 30th September from 11am to 5.30pm daily.

| Since we produce wild flower seed commercially, the land at the wild flower farm is planted with numerous species of native wild flowers and grasses for wholesale seed production on some 40 acres of land. | |||||||||

Wildlife hedges totaling over a mile in length are now well established
together with examples of our wild flower meadows. A large 'dragonfly' pond
and surrounding wetland meadow, which looks superb in May and June is adjacent
to the picnic site. The objective of our centre is to provide a pleasant
relaxing visit, where people can learn the benefits of wildlife gardening
by example and recognise the possibilities for growing native plant species
in their own gardens. |

They can stroll amongst and enjoy the large areas of wild flowers and observe the wildlife that they attract. Our full range of plants and seeds plus a selection of cottage garden species and herbs can be purchased at the centre. Tempting home-baked light refreshments are available in our tearoom, but customers are welcome to bring along a picnic lunch if they wish. The children's play area gives parents some respite from the joys of parenthood. Although there is now more widespread awareness of the need to conserve wild flowers in their natural habitat, only now are people realising the merits of growing them within their own gardens. |

| Visits from schools, clubs, WI's etc. can be arranged in or outside our normal opening hours. Early evening visits in summer with buffet supper have proved popular. Discounts are given for groups of 12 people or more. Please contact us for details | |||||||||
