NCA2 Special Cornfield Annuals Mix

NCA2 Special Cornfield Annuals Mix

A mix of 11 native annual wildflower species. NCA2 is best sown either on its own or included as part of a perennial wildflower meadow mix, to give some colour in the first year while the perennial species become established. When sowing alone the soil will need to be disturbed each Autumn to produce a flowering the following season. Once a common sight in the cornfields of the UK, these vibrant flowers were driven from the fields through advances in herbicides. Some of the easiest wildflowers to grow, providing a vivid riot of colour in the early summer. Unlike most wildflowers, the species in this mix will tolerate soils of high fertility.

Mix is 100% Wildflower seeds.

Sowing rate if sown alone: 2g per square metre, 8Kg per acre, 20kg per hectare

Sowing rate if sown with a perennial wildflower mix: 1g per square metre, 4Kg per acre, 10Kg per hectare

About Us Naturescape have been growing native wildflowers since 1978, supplying seed principally to the wholesale wildflower industry. Our Wildflower Farm of 90 acres, devoted to the production of seed was the first of its kind accessible to the public in the UK when it opened in 1991. Customers have the opportunity to visit and appreciate the interaction between the native wildflowers and associated wildlife. There are examples of well established meadows on site, with the 2 acre wetland meadow being particularly noteworthy. After cleaning to obtain a pure sample our wildflower seed is stored at optimum temperature in a purpose-built coldstore to ensure seed quality is maintained. Whilst we hope you will find a suitable meadow mix for your site from those offered, we are happy to quote for bespoke mixtures, and offer an extensive range of wildflower species which can be purchased individually. For large meadow schemes we are able to make visits to the site, and give recommendations on preparatory work and subsequent sowing and management of appropriate mixes. If required we are able to undertake all aspects of meadow creation and maintenance.

We have been growing wildflower plugs and 9cm pots since 1990, using our own seed stocks which we can be confident are of UK provenance.
